This article explains how to find the database in use by a WordPress site. This information may be useful if you wish to access the database using a tool like\u00a0phpMyAdmin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Identifying the WordPresss Database<\/span>

\nTo get the database information we need to access the files on the account and open the WordPress wp-config.php<\/strong> file which holds the database information.<\/p>\n

Accessing the File Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Log in to your AKLWEB Host Plesk Account.<\/li>\n
2. Click on the Hosting on the top menu and then\u00a0cPanel<\/strong>\u00a0on the sub menu.<\/li>\n
3. Find the\u00a0Files<\/strong>\u00a0section and click on\u00a0File Manager<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
4. You may get a popup asking you to select the directory you want to start in. Choose the Document Root for: option and select the website you want to get the database information for. Finally click go.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

   Opening the wp-config.php File.<\/strong><\/p>\n

   \n
   1. Once in the file manager, make sure you are in the folder for your WordPress site.<\/li>\n
   2. In the list of files find the\u00a0wp-config.php<\/strong>\u00a0file.<\/li>\n
   3. Right click on the file and select Code Edit.<\/li>\n
   4. If you get a popup asking about the encoding of the file click the Edit button to continue.<\/li>\n
   5. In the file editor find the line that says\u00a0“define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘example_database’);”<\/strong>\u00a0This is usually around line\u00a019<\/strong>. The database is the second term that is in single quotes. In the case of this example it is\u00a0examplec_wo5647<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
