Checking your FTP client’s log<\/strong>\u00a0can help\u00a0diagnose<\/strong>\u00a0any\u00a0connectivity or issues<\/strong>\u00a0with uploading or downloading your web site. It will log every command that is executed, and the response from the server.<\/p>\n

The following information outlines how to enable and check the log on the two most commonly used\u00a0FTP programs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

FileZilla<\/span><\/h3>\n

You can display the log by\u00a0clicking on View > Message Log<\/strong>\u00a0in the menu, in the top half of your screen. You can find the portion of the log you need, and by\u00a0pressing right click<\/strong>, you can copy the entire log to your clipboard. You can paste this into us for any further analysis in the helpdesk.<\/p>\n

Cyberduck<\/span><\/h3>\n

You will first need to enable logging by clicking on the View menu and then on\u00a0“Toggle Log Drawer”<\/strong>.
