\nYou must use FTPS or SFTP to be able to upload content using an FTP client.<\/p>\n\n- FTPS server address.<\/strong>\u00a0The FTPS address should be\u00a0ftps:\/\/your-domain-name.com<\/strong><\/span>, where\u00a0your-domain-name.com<\/strong>\u00a0is your site’s Internet address.<\/li>\n
- FTPS username.\u00a0<\/strong>It is identical to your system username.
\nNote that the system username may differ from the username that you use for logging in to Plesk.
\nTo find what your system user name is, go to\u00a0Websites & Domains\u00a0and click\u00a0Web Hosting Access. You will find it under\u00a0Username. You can change your system username if you want.<\/li>\n- FTPS password.<\/strong>\u00a0It is identical to your system user password. If you do not know what your system user password is, go to\u00a0Websites & Domains\u00a0and click\u00a0Web Hosting Access. You can reset the password under\u00a0Password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
To publish a website using FTPS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Connect to your subscription on the server with an\u00a0FTPS client program<\/strong>, using your\u00a0FTPS account<\/strong>\u00a0username and password.Enable the passive mode if you are behind a firewall. Refer to your\u00a0FTPS client<\/strong>\u00a0documentation to learn how to enter passive mode.<\/li>\n
- Upload the files and directories of your site to the\u00a0
httpdocs<\/code>\u00a0directory. If you use\u00a0CGI scripts<\/strong>, place them in the\u00a0cgi-bin<\/code>\u00a0directory.<\/li>\n- Close your FTPS session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
You can also set up additional FTPS accounts if you need to collaborate on website content with other users.<\/p>\n
HOW TO ADD ADDITIONAL FTP ACCOUNTS<\/strong><\/p>\nIf you are working on your website together with someone else or host subdomains for other users, you might want to create separate FTP accounts for them.<\/p>\n
To create an additional FTP account:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Go to\u00a0Websites & Domains\u00a0and click\u00a0FTP Access.<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0Add FTP Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Specify the following:Click\u00a0OK<\/strong>.\n
\n- FTP account name. Type a desired name.<\/li>\n
- Home directory. Select the directory to which the user will be taken when he or she connects to the FTP account.<\/li>\n
- FTP password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0OK.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
To change the properties of an additional FTP account:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Go to\u00a0Websites & Domains\u00a0and click\u00a0FTP Access<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Click the required\u00a0FTP account<\/strong>\u00a0name in the list.<\/li>\n
- Make the required changes and click\u00a0OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
To remove an additional FTP account:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Go to\u00a0Websites & Domains<\/strong>\u00a0and click\u00a0FTP Access<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select the checkbox corresponding to the FTP account you want to remove and click\u00a0Remove.\u00a0Note that the main FTP account of a subscription<\/strong>\u00a0cannot be removed.<\/li>\n
